My all-consuming passion for drawing began while watching anime series like One Piece (thanks to my cousin for introducing me to it), before expanding to the entire world of animation. The real turning point came the day I stumbled upon a documentary showing the behind-the-scenes process of creating a film. I was literally mesmerized by the incredible collective synergy behind every frame, by the diversity of the professions involved, and by the sheer scale of the work involved. It was at that precise moment that I fell in love with this world and knew I wanted to dedicate my career to it.
Today, that sense of wonder fuels my work in character design, environment design, illustration and the creation of my own graphic novel, as I’m also a huge comic book enthusiast.
With a Bachelor’s degree in 3D Animation from ECV Paris, I spent three years dissecting the filmmaking process. This training allowed me to master the production pipeline and understand its practical challenges. This technical expertise is now a valuable asset: when I draw, I always keep in mind how my concepts will evolve and fit into a complex production workflow.
Whether it’s through digital art or my paintings and sketches, creating characters or environments through which I can convey and share emotions is, I believe, what I love most as an artist.
I love music, too; I work with music a lot, not just as background music. For me, music is a powerful tool in my creative process. When I need to feel what my character is feeling or capture the emotion I’m trying to convey in my concept, I listen to music that evokes that exact feeling on repeat while I draw. I’ve discovered that it’s not only a powerful tool in my process but also a way to feel each emotion I paint and draw more deeply.
I’m currently working as a freelancer from my own creative space, which allows me to focus entirely on visual design. This time allows me to refine my portfolio and work on my own projects.
